Hi all! I just thought I'd pass on some things I found out about Carnival ships that I thought were kinda neat.
They all have new bedding that is supposed to be really comfy. There's a whole thread on how comfortable the beds are.
Espresso and cappuccino are no charge if you order them in the dining room, breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Pizza and ice cream/frozen yogurt are available 24 hours a day....free.
You are allowed to bring wine aboard....no restrictions.
In the cabin bathrooms, they don't just have shampoo and soap, they have a basket with things like disposable razors, tylenol, deodorant, body wash, etc. Sample sizes.
You can buy drink coupons ahead of time, or gift certificates that can be used to pay for the cruise or the shipboard account.
You can bring non-alcoholic drinks onboard too, so Gene can bring his Diet Green Tea!
The safes are operated with any card with a magnetic strip, not a combination.
There are mini-bars in the cabins stocked with premium liquor, wine, beer, soft drinks and a variety of sweet/salty snacks. You can have them remove it all if you want.
Each cabin with a cabin of ocean view and above (poor me) will have bathrobes provided. Of course you can keep them for $39.
There are pay-per-view movies available on the TV and also you can view your shipboard account on it.
Here's a fact for you to store somewhere. Acapulco is on Central time. Not sure yet if that applies to the other ports as well, I'll see what I can find out.
They do towel animals at night.....woohoo!!
Free beverages all the time are: Lido buffet area - Iced tea, hot water & tea bags, coffee, decaf, hot chocolate, juice varieties, lemonade, water, fruitpunch. On buffet line - milk, skim milk, chocolate milk.
They have a made-to-order omelet station in the buffet.
Dining room - Iced tea, hot tea, water, coffee, decaf, milk, chocolate milk, juices, espresso and cappuccino.
Room service - MOST of the beverages that are available on Lido, but not lemonade or fruit punch.
Ok, this is pretty cool. They have entertainment in the lounge while you're waiting to disembark. I think they said it was a comedian. How cool is that??
