Packing for an Alaskan Cruise
I found this on a thread and thought it would make a good starting point.
Clothing
- Formal wear for two night
- cuff links, cummerbund, tie, shoes
- evening bag, jewelry, wrap, heels
- Cold weather clothes (wear layers)
- jeans, shirts, sweater (there are laundry facilities on the ship)
- 1 or 2 pairs shorts & tops
- "hang out in the cabin" clothes
- shoes/boots
- traveling clothes
- pre/post cruise clothes
- Undergarments
- Sleepwear/robe
- Rain Hat
- Rain Jacket
- Fleece pullover
- Fleece Jacket
- Fleece Gloves
- Shower shoes and Slippers
Cabin\ship essentials
- Extension cord (We took 2 and used both!)
- Hair Dryer (The cabin one was permanently mounted in a drawer in the poorly lit vanity area)
- Travel Mugs
- Travel Clock
- Small pair of scissors
- Hand Sanitizer
- Green Tea & Bottled Water
- Over the door organizer (great for keeping all those little items off table tops and within easy reach)
- Of course, our cameras, binocs (one for each person), laptop, cell phones and all the chargers
- Good book or two
- Hot chocolate packets??
Toiletries
- Shampoo/conditioner
- Hair gel/spray
- Toothbrush, toothpaste and floss
- Deodorant
- Razor
- Makeup and remover
- Medications
- Motion sickness remedy
- Contact solution (extra contacts)
- Glasses and/or reading glasses
Excursion needs
- Camera, film, charger, memory cards
- Binoculars
- Travel Umbrella
- Sun glasses
- A Large Tote bag (I used this constantly in port for carrying stuff, DH carried the backpack)
Miscellaneous
- Business cards or name cards to give to new friends
- Preprinted address labels
- Ziplock bags
- Dog Treats for the Sled Dogs......Their Owner was so appreciative that I brought his dogs treats! (As a courtesy, ask permission first)
- A large Canvas Duffle bag for packing all those t-shirts, sweatshirts and souvenirs to bring home
