Bert and Mary Ann

Bert and Mary Ann

We are Bert and Mary Ann, who, combined, have lived in ten states and have avoided jail in all of them.  We met in Socorro, New Mexico where we became Christians, fell in love, were graduated, and were married.  Mary Ann has spent most of her years since then teaching every grade except first in Christian schools.  Bert has taught a little, preached a little, and has done computery things.   Currently Mary Ann is patient coordinator at a Lap-Band surgery center and Bert does monitoring and statistics things at a hotel computer technology company.

We have been married for 31 years.  But only since our twenty-fifth anniversary have we had enough sense to spend every spare moment and dollar on cruise ships.

We enjoy dancing and eating.  But we are much better at eating.   We only dance a couple dozen different steps.  But we eat hundreds of different dishes.  Our two daughters are inexplicably smart and beautiful. One of them, Charity, and our son-in-law, Matt, and our two granddaughters, Kayli and Isabel will be on this cruise with us.  Both of our two granddaughters are cuter and more brilliant and talented than yours, so do not bother to engage us in that discussion.

A couple of years ago, Mary Ann started losing over 160 pounds.  Since then we have both become more motivated for good nutrition and exercise.  This was not hard because for fifty-one years, we had no such motivation at all!  By the way, if you watch us eat on a cruise, you will be unable to detect any signs of our interest in good nutrition.

When you talk to Mary Ann, if you run out of things to talk about, mention an episode from a science fiction TV shows or movies, scrapbooking, Pern, or crafts.   When you talk to Bert, if you run out of things to talk about, bring up computers, theology, digital photography, prime numbers, weight lifting, or coffee roasting
